DeLand Skydiver Hits Head On Plane, Sustains Injuries After Hard Landing

DeLand, FL - Update: The DeLand Police Department says the skydiver injured during a hard landing near the DeLand Municipal Airport was a 35-year-old man.

The 35-year-old said he hit his head on the plane while making his jump and only remembered waking up after hitting the ground. He sustained minor injuries.

The skydiver was found at around 11:30 AM on Wednesday near Edison Drive and DaVita way.

According to the DeLand Police Department, a skydiver was injured during a hard landing on Wednesday morning.

At this time, it is unknown what led to the hard landing. The skydiver landed northwest of DeLand Municipal Airport.

Police have not yet identified the individual, but it was confirmed that they were transported to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach via Air One helicopter.

The incident is currently under investigation, and more details will be released as they become available.
