Skydiver Injured At DeLand Municipal Airport; Condition Still Uknown

DeLand, FL - 2-13-17 Update: A Virginia man was injured while skydiving at Skydive DeLand on Friday, but officials still aren't releasing his condition.

When police arrived at 1600 Flightline Blvd. the DeLand Fire Department and Evac were on scene.

Nikolay Likhachev suffered a compound fracture to his left leg and an unknown head injury. After being air lifted to Halifax Health Medical Center he was breathing but unresponsive.

The accident was reported to Skydive DeLand by a customer. When Skydive DeLand responded to the scene, Likhachev was already on the ground.

Likhachev had completed 200 jumps, mostly at Skydive DeLand.

DeLand Police and Fire responded to a report of a skydiver injured at the DeLand Municipal Airport at 9:15 AM, Friday, Feb. 10.

Nikolay V. Likhachev, 40, Russia, was airlifted to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach. The extent of his injuries are unknown.
