Six People Rescued From Burning Boat In NSB

New Smyrna Beach, FL - Six people are uninjured after being rescued from the water in New Smyrna Beach.  Information taken from several 9-1-1 calls received just before 2 p.m. today (Dec. 26, 2018) begins with reports of smoke coming from a boat near the Coast Guard station in Smyrna Dunes Park. 9-1-1 callers reported that six people had jumped into the water and were rescued by someone with a pontoon boat.  One of the callers was actually working at the Coast Guard station. A spokesperson for the Coast Guard said that the Florida Wildlife Commission is handling the incident. According to reports, the fire was quickly contained and put out by 2:30 p.m.  No injuries have been reported.
