vcso logo Volusia County, FL - The Sheriff's Offices in Volusia and Orange counties have teamed up to catch the thief who stole 2 construction trailers in Osteen. Both of the trailers in question, a stolen truck, and a stolen gun have all been recovered. Investigators are still piecing the cases together in order to file more charges against 31-year-old Russell Folmer. The trailers were reported missing on Monday morning when a foreman with Irby Construction found them missing from a construction site on S.R. 415 in Osteen. "One of the trailers was a dump trailer and didn't have a whole lot of valuables in it," said Gary Davidson, VCSO Public Information Officer, "but the other one contained a lot of equipment..." Some of the stolen items are still unaccounted for, but investigators from both agencies have already recovered more than $50,000 worth of stolen property. According to Davidson, the Orange County Sheriff's Office has charged Folmer with "operating a chop shop, two counts of grand theft auto, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon." Volusia County Sheriff's investigators will be filing additional charges against Folmer related to the trailer thefts. According to the Florida Department of Corrections Folmer has several priors out of Orange County including; grand theft of a motor vehicle, criminal mischief, aggravated assault, and false imprisonment. Folmer is being held at the Orange County Jail. russell folmer mug
