DeLeon Springs, FL-Eagle-eyed neighbors in DeLeon Springs are being credited for the arrest of two female burglary suspects deputies say were caught in the act Thursday. The call came from neighbors about something fishy going on at 6119 Winona Road around 10 AM. Deputies arrived at the scene and met with a man and woman who told them they were sitting on their porch and spotted the suspects removing items from a neighbor's master bedroom. The man called the neighbor to ask if anyone was supposed to be at her home and she told him no. He then drove over and confronted the pair with a stick. He told deputies they were stealing jewelry when he went to the home. He was able to keep them from leaving because he had the stick with him. Charged are 18-year-old Amber Kleinhenz and 18-year-old Lexus Mayle. Both are from Ohio. Deputies say they found the pair in possession of about $2,000 in jewelry, $3,000 in cash, medical supplies, drug paraphernalia, a knife and a loaded revolver. There was also a broken window in the back of the home. Drawers and closets were open throughout the house. Both suspects have been charged with counts including armed burglary and grand theft. They are being held at the Volusia County Branch Jail on $16,000 bond each.
