Volusia County, FL-Deputies have arrested an employee of the John E. Polk Correctional Facility in Seminole County and charged him with stealing a credit card from a Volusia woman May 10 at the facility. She was held there for about 8 hours after her arrest and told authorities she believed the credit card disappeared while she was there. A couple of days after her stay, she noticed suspicious charges on her card. One charge was at a Deltona gas station and made while she was in custody.

When security video was checked by VCSO deputies, the suspect was seen making the purchase with a credit card. The woman told deputies she recognized the man as a worker at JEPCF.

Seminole authorities identified the man as 59-year-old Luis Rodriguez. He was arrested at his Deltona home and booked into the VCBJ on $5,000 bond. He has been served notice initiating the process of termination of his employment in Seminole County. He has been a civilian detention officer there since 2010.
