New Smyrna Beach, FL - Volusia County Beach Safety Ocean Rescue reports a second minor accident this week in the beach driving lane.
VCBS Captain Tammy Malphurs says a 52-year-old Winter Park woman laying on the beach near the traffic lane in New Smyrna Beach had a car back over her at around 2:30 p.m. today just south of 27th Avenue Park. "She was not hit with any wheels of the vehicle and received minor injuries," Malphurs added. "She was not transported by ambulance. It was not immediately reported." Charges are pending against the male driver who backed over her. It was the day prior when a 9-year-old Ohio girl suffered minor injuries in Daytona Beach Shores.
