Daytona Beach, FL - A 16-year-old male student at Seabreeze High School in Daytona Beach was arrested for allegedly posting an Instagram message threatening the school and a 17-year-old girl.

A resource officer assigned to Seabreeze High School was contacted by school officials at around 12:15 PM on Tuesday after reports that a student was making threats on social media against another student and the school during school hours. According to arrest reports from the Daytona Beach Police Department (DBPD), a student reported that the 16-year-old posted a message on Instagram stating, "Aint going down without a fight, imma fire on her and this school." The 16-year-old was already isolated in a room for In-School Suspension, and there were no weapons found on the student or on school property, according to DBPD. Officials determined there was no immediate threat, so the school was not placed on lockdown. When the student was questioned, he said he did not wish to shoot anyone and he was only referring to "using his fists" in the social media post, according to arrest reports. The boy was taken into custody and transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice Detention Center on Tuesday. He was charged with threatening to discharge a destructive device.
