Scott In Orlando Announces Millions For FDLE Counterterrorism Efforts

Orlando, FL-Newly sworn in Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood was among the law enforcement on hand today for an announcement by Governor Rick Scott on anti-terror funding. Scott announcing he would ask state lawmakers to ok $5.8 million in funding in his 2017-2018 budget for Florida Department of Law Enforcement counterterror efforts.

The money will go to hire 46 special agents and analysts dedicated to anti-terror efforts in Florida. Scott made the announcement in Orlando and several times referred to the attack on the Pulse nightclub last year that killed 49 people.
