Daytona Beach, FL - The Daytona Beach Symphony Society will be presenting the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) featuring Scottish "superstar" and violinist Nicola Benedetti at the Peabody Auditorium.

The concert is scheduled for Wednesday, March 22, 7 PM, at the Peabody Auditorium, 600 Auditorium Blvd. The orchestra will be led by RSNO Music Director and Maestro, Peter Oundjian.

Prior to the concert, at 5:45 PM, 6 members of the Daytona Beach Pipes and Drums will be performing in traditional dress in front of the auditorium. At 6 PM, Dr. Rose Grace will lead a Pre-Concert Talk in the Rose Room.

Celebrating their 125th year in 2016, this is the RSNO's first tour in the United States in 35 years. Benedetti, who was heralded by the Chicago Tribune for "the depth and sheen of her tone, wizardry of her technique and emotional weight of her renditions" will perform Brahms Violin Concerto in D Major.

"As we close out our 65th season, we also look ahead to 2017-18, when our new season will include Opening Night with the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra featuring 2016 Tchaikovsky Competition winner, Dmitry Masleev, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra from London and the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba," said Tracy Marino, Director of Marketing and Development for the Daytona Beach Symphony Society.

Single tickets ($39-$68) can be purchased in person at the Peabody Auditorium Box Office, online at dbss.org or by calling 1-800-745-3000.
