Right Turn Lane Closed During Construction On North Causeway In NSB

Posted

New Smyrna Beach, FL - The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has closed the right turn lane from Riverside Dr. to the North Causeway in New Smyrna Beach. This lane closure is meant to better accommodate larger vehicles turning onto the North Causeway from northbound Riverside Dr. during bridge deck repairs. Traffic is currently shifted at the west end of the North Causeway as the FDOT contractor removes and replaces the concrete bridge deck on the two small bridges over the Berrys and Conners canals. One travel lane will remain open in each direction on the North Causeway. All traffic will use the inside northbound lane to continue north on Riverside Dr., turn right onto the North Causeway, or turn left onto Washington St. Drivers are also urged to be cautious since the speed limits have been lowered in the area. The turn lane will remain closed throughout construction, which is expected to finish in summer 2018. Updates will be posted on the FDOT’s Central Florida website www.cflroads.com.
