Restaurants Donating Food For 'The Sheltering Tree' Fundraiser In Flagler County

Flagler County, FL - Area restaurants are donating food to the upcoming fundraiser for 'The Sheltering Tree' cold-weather shelter for the homeless in Flagler County.

The fundraiser will be held Sunday, Feb. 26, from 5-8 PM at the Santa Maria Del Mar Catholic Church, 915 N. Central Ave., Flagler Beach. Organizers are asking members of the community to "open their hearts" and offer support.

Participating restaurants include Houligan's, Larry's Deli, Terranova Italian Restaurant, Pasta Pasta, Giovanni's, Mezzaluna Pizzeria, Anthon's Brick Oven and Larry's Subs.

Music and entertainment will be provided by Palm Coast's 'Debbie Owen and Tony T." Door prizes and raffles are being planned as well. Success stories about work at the shelter will inform attendees about the homeless in Flagler County.

The Sheltering Tree, which is operated by the Flagler County Assistance Center, Inc., has provided basic needs, food and extreme-weather shelter for the homeless since 2008. The shelter helps homeless individuals transition to affordable housing and helps at-risk individuals from becoming homeless. The shelter also offers transportation and reunites individuals with their families.

Tickets to the event are $15 each and may be purchased at the door. For reservations call the shelter at (386) 437-3258, ext. 105.
