Volusia County Primary Early Voting Set To Start

Volusia County, FL- Voters in Volusia County begin early voting for the August 30th primary Saturday. Early voting is already underway for the primary election on August 30 in Flagler County. Volusia County Supervisor of Elections Lisa Lewis said that more than 72,000 mail-in ballots were sent out.  As of earlier this week, more than 23,000 have been returned.  That number is a lot higher than usual for a primary election. Lewis also said that it appears that many people are already registering for the general election in November. The total number of registered voters in Volusia County is 350, 827.  Lewis said by party there are 125,231 Democrats, 123,542 Republicans and the other 112,000 registered voters belong to minor parties or are unaffiliated.
