"Rebuild Florida" Funds Available In Flagler Beach

Posted

Flagler Beach, FL- A mobile intake bus staged by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity is parked in front of the Flagler Beach Library this week to make it easier for residents to apply for a portion of the money allocated to repair homes that were significantly damaged by Hurricane Irma. Flagler County Emergency Management Chief Jonathan Lord said the Federal Housing and Urban Development agency released Community Development Block Grants - Disaster Recovery funds. Lord said there is a series of criteria to follow to determine eligibility. 80 percent of the $616 million in funds is targeted towards certain communities. In Flagler Beach, zip code 32136 is the target. Lord said the target does not preclude others from applying and that if there is funding left over and a person meets the other criteria, they could still get some help. The "Rebuild Florida" bus will be parked at the Flagler Beach Library every day this week through Saturday, October 6th, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and staff will be on hand to help those who need it. You can also register online at rebuildflroida.gov or call 844-833-1010 for more information. Florida residents have until December 23 to register for the Rebuild Florida Housing Repair and Replacement Program.
