Rainfall Record Toppled Tuesday In Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach, FL-Torrential downpours here Tuesday smashed the rainfall record for the date set in 2010. That previous record for the date was 1.59″. The National Weather Service in Melbourne says 3.12″ of rain fell at the official recording site at Daytona Beach International Airport.

Storms and heavy rainfall covered the local area Tuesday. More daily showers and storms in the forecast for the remainder of the week.
