Flagler County, FL - Princess Place Preserve and the Haw Creek Preserve (Russell Landing) in Flagler County will be open again to the public on Friday after the two preserves were closed for about a week due to flooding.
The parks will re-open on December 1, according to Flagler County officials. “There is still some standing water on roadway going to Russell Landing, but it is passable,” Flagler County Parks Manager Frank Barbuti says. “Princess Place has wet areas – the trails – but the park is open and the campsites are dry.”
Because the trails at Princess Place are still wet, all of the trails at Princess Place, including equestrian trails, are closed with the exception of the paved ADA accessible trail.
Haw Creek Preserve is off of County Road 2007 in Bunnell. Princess Place Preserve is located at 2500 Princess Place Rd. in Palm Coast.
“Our staff has been working diligently to get the parks back in shape so they can reopen,” County Administrator Craig Coffey explains. “We appreciate everyone’s patience. This has been an exceptional year for rainfall, which has caused flooding.”
