Flagler County, FL - Princess Place Preserve and the Haw Creek Preserve (Russell Landing) in Flagler County will be closed until further notice due to localized flooding, according to Flagler County officials. The closures include the parks' trails, camping, and canoe and kayak launch areas. Flagler County officials said on Monday that both parks will remain closed until the water has a chance to recede and the shell roadways have dried out enough to be safe for parking. “It is not safe for the public to travel on the roads through Princess Place,” General Services Director Heidi Petito explains. “The hardwood swamp that borders Haw Creek is flooded." Haw Creek Preserve is off of County Road 2007 in Bunnell. Princess Place Preserve is located at 2500 Princess Place Rd. in Palm Coast. Signs and barricades are up to warn residents of the closures. County Road 2007 was closed on Monday between the Pellicer Community Center and Russell Landing. “Once the flooding has subsided, staff will be working diligently to reopen the park,” County Administrator Craig Coffey says.
