UPDATE (10-04-18): A Florida Power & Light spokesperson tells WNDB the power went out around 5:30 this morning because of an equipment issue. It has since been fixed, with power restored around 9:40 a.m., per FPL.
Courthouse operations return to normal for Friday with the doors opening at 8 a.m.

Daytona Beach, FL - A power outage has forced the temporary closure of the Volusia County Courthouse Annex in Daytona Beach.
Officials with the 7th Judicial Circuit of Florida say the issue sprung up early this morning (October 4th) at the facility on 125 East Orange Avenue, right next to the Tom Staed Veterans Memorial Bridge currently under construction.
Spokesperson Ludi Lelis is hoping the building will reopen by tomorrow morning, but a decision on that likely won't be made until later today.
"All our other courthouses in Volusia County remain open," Lelis noted.
It's not clear at this point what caused the power outage. WNDB has reached out to Florida Power & Light for more information. This article will be updated once FPL reaches back.
12 judges work out of the annex daily and the loss of power means that they will not be able to hear the cases scheduled for today, but they do have the ability to work from home in situations like this, per Lelis.
Those cases will have to be rescheduled for another time because of lack of space at the other court buildings, including the Volusia County Justice Center nearby on Ridgewood Avenue.
