Daytona Beach, FL - One of the teens facing charges for shooting a 45-year-old Oak Hill man will be charged as an adult.
On February 16th, two teenagers, 15-year-old James Powell and 17-year-old Sylvano Leslie II, shot a man who was hosting a party for his high-school aged children.
Volusia County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant for both teens, and Leslie ended up turning himself in on February 19th. Powell followed not too far behind when he turned himself in on the 20th.
Now, a letter from the office of the State Attorney shows that Powell will be charged as an adult with two counts of attempted first-degree murder with a firearm.
If convicted, Powell could face life in prison.
The State Attorney's office also mentioned that they have not determined what charges will be filed against Leslie and under what status.
