Port Orange, FL - A 17-year-old male is facing charges and jail time following an armed robbery at a convenience store.

Port Orange police say that it was almost 3 p.m. yesterday (January 19th) when the suspect, identified as Brandin Woods, entered a 7-Eleven convenience store on the corner of Clyde Morris Boulevard and Reed Canal Road.

The report says that Woods entered the store, armed with a knife, and waited until the store was empty to move on the cashiers.

When the store finally emptied out, Woods held the two cashiers at knifepoint and demanded that they drop their cellphones, preventing them from calling 911.

Both clerks fled unharmed and Woods fled the scene in a vehicle waiting outside, without any cash or merchandise in hand.

It wouldn't be long until POPD tracked down Woods and his vehicle. He was apprehended and arrested later that day, charged with robbery with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment and depriving the use of 911.

Woods' mugshot and jail information is not available since the defendant is a minor.
