Port Orange, FL - Police want the public's help to find a person of interest in a homicide investigation.

Port Orange police say around 9 p.m. yesterday (August 27th), they received a call in reference to a deceased female at a home on Hatteras Drive near All Children's Park.

Their investigation showed that the female was an apparent victim of a homicide. The investigation also showed she is not a resident of the home.

37-year-old Thomas McMullen was then labeled by police as a person of interest in the homicide. They say McMullen is possibly driving a maroon 1998 Buick Regal sedan with extensive damage on the driver side, bearing Florida tag M534QE.

The female victim and McMullen were known to each other. Police do not know if McMullen is armed at this time or is a threat to others.

Anyone with information on the vehicle or McMullen's whereabouts is asked to call 911 or report it to Crimestoppers by calling 1-888-277-TIPS.

The female's information is not being released until a next of kin is notified.
