Port Orange PD Investigating After Dog & Cat Found Dead At Apartments Days Apart

Port Orange, FL - Port Orange Police are investigating an active animal cruelty case after a dog and a cat were found dead less than a week apart at Ashton Point Apartments in Port Orange. Port Orange Animal Control was dispatched to the apartment complex, located at 6305 S. Williamson Blvd. on Friday, September 22 after one resident reported that the family dog had died under suspicious circumstances. Animal Control was called to the apartments again on Tuesday, September 26 after a cat was found dead in a cluster of bushes. According to the Port Orange Police Department, the cat had no visible trauma, but the circumstances are considered suspicious in nature. This is an open investigation, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
