Port Orange Motorcyclist Hurt In Crash On Taylor Road

Port Orange, FL - Investigators are looking for help to piece together the details of an accident this morning which sent a 62-year-old man to the hospital with a head injury.

Henry Gonzalez of Port Orange was transported by paramedics to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach from the scene of the crash on the 1600 block of Taylor Road/County Road 421 in Port Orange.

The Port Orange Police Department says Gonzalez was riding westbound on Taylor near the Interstate 95 interchange around 10:40 a.m. when a Jeep Wrangler sideswiped Gonzalez's Harley-Davidson Road King motorcycle, knocking him off.

Detectives think Gonzalez was in the inside travel lane when the Wrangler approached from the outside lane and tried to merge in.

The driver of the Wrangler remained on scene after the accident, per POPD.

No charges have been filed at this time.
