Port Orange Man Charged In May Crash That Killed Ponce Inlet Couple

Daytona Beach, FL - Police arrested a 28-year-old man at his Port Orange home on Tuesday in the crash that killed a Ponce Inlet couple in May. George Hatzimouratides faces two charges of vehicular homicide in the deaths of 62-year-Gary Miller and his 62-year-old wife, Deborah. The accident took place on Clyde Morris Boulevard in Daytona Beach. The initial accident report stated that Gary Miller had driven into Hatzimouratides's path. Upon further investigation, it was found that the defendant had been driving more than twice the posted speed limit. Gary Miller was attempting to make a left turn onto Clyde Morris as Hatzimouratides was heading south at around 90 mph when he smashed into the Miller vehicle. Gary Miller died at the scene. His wife Deborah died a day later at Halifax Health Medical Center.
