POPD Officer Struck In T-Bone Crash On Williamson, No Serious Injuries Reported

Port Orange, FL - According to the Port Orange Police Department, a police officer was involved in a crash on Williamson Blvd.

Around 9:30 PM on Tuesday, Officer William Burmester was driving southbound on Williamson Blvd. when a blue 2002 Ford Expedition crashed into his patrol car in a T-bone style accident. The driver of the Ford, Joan Beyer, 88, was found to be at fault by the Florida Highway Patrol.

There were no serious injuries but Officer Burmester was taken to Halifax Health Hospital for evaluation and treatment by ambulance, and Beyer refused medical treatment at the scene.
