Port Orange, FL – A body has been found in a truck in the woods on Town West Blvd. near Tomoka Farms Rd. in Port Orange.

The Port Orange Police Department (POPD) responded to a report at 4:18 PM on Wednesday that a body was suspected to be inside of a vehicle. The body was found in the passenger seat but was not able to be identified at the time due to the decomposition of the body.

What police do know is that the truck is a white 2012 Ford F-150 that is registered to a Port Orange man who was reported missing earlier this year on April 2, Ian K. Hiles, 41.

The Volusia County Medical Examiner’s Office will compare the found remains to Hiles’ dental records to try to identify the body and will release information as it becomes available. Hiles’ family is aware of the new information.

This is an active case and the POPD Detective Division asks that anyone with information call Detective Thomas Yovanovich at 386-506-5897.

You may also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-888-277-TIPS (8477) or by texting “TIP231” and your message to CRIMES (274637). There is a $5,000 reward.
