Edgewater, FL - This Volusia County pool builder is now under investigation after one of his customers says they're owed more than $25,000 of work.

That's according to the Edgewater Police Department and the Volusia County Sheriff's Office regarding 40-year-old James Griffin.

According to a report from Edgewater police, a detective met with one resident who said they were following legal steps to pursue charges against Griffin.

The report says that Griffin, the owner of Aquatic Daze Custom Pools And Spas LLC, was contracted to build a pool in the backyard of an Sabal Palm Drive home on July 30th of 2018.

The homeowner said since that time, Griffin did little work and even asked for an advanced payment despite the contract they had signed.

He also said that the last time Griffin did any work was on November 3rd, and only for a couple of hours.

On January 3rd, the homeowner sent a letter to Griffin at both his personal and business address.

The letter says that Griffin failed to complete any work at their home within 60 days and it wasn't because of a termination of their contract or a material breach of the contract.

The homeowner then stated that he paid $30,800 for work, and Griffin only performed $5,000 worth of work, leaving $25,800 worth of work due.

Records show one letter was received at his business address, but not his personal address in Edgewater.

The second letter was attempted two other times but was still return unserved.

The investigation is still active and ongoing.
