Police Give More Details On Shooting That Injured Man At His Daytona Apartment

Daytona Beach, FL - Police released more information on Thursday about a shooting at a Daytona apartment complex that left one man injured after he says he was shot by one of four intruders who forced their way into his apartment. On Tuesday, just before 3 AM, police responded to 629 Jean St. in Daytona after 31-year-old Harold King reported that four black men entered his apartment without consent. At least one of the men was carrying a semi-automatic firearm. King's girlfriend and 4-year-old daughter were also at the apartment at the time. King tried to wrestle the firearm away from one of the men, according to police reports. During the altercation, multiple shots were fired, and King was left bleeding profusely with gunshot wounds to his right leg and his stomach. After the shooting, King barricaded himself, along with his girlfriend and his daughter, in a room at the back of the apartment. King was taken to Halifax Health in Daytona for treatment, but his wounds were not life-threatening, according to police.
