Police: Arrest Made In Fatal Hit-&-Run In Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach, FL - Update: The Daytona Beach Police Department says a 63-year-old man has been arrested in connection to Wednesday morning's fatal hit-and-run. Juan Correa told police that he had consumed six or seven beers before the incident.

Earlier Reporting: The Daytona Beach Police Department (DBPD) is investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred near the intersection of S. Nova Rd. and Forest Glen Blvd. At around 7 AM on Wednesday, DBPD Motors Unit officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of a body lying on the east side of the road. Police uncovered that the white female victim was 35-year-old Rusty Bovee, of Daytona Beach. Reports indicate that her next-of-kin has been notified. Daytona Beach police have identified a vehicle of interest in the fatal hit and run. Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a 2006-2009 maroon Mitsubishi Raider with heavy front-end damage and a toolbox in the bed of the truck.

The passenger side headlight is missing, and the rims are believed to be a dark color. The truck was last seen driving eastbound on Bellevue Ave. and Dr. Martin L.
