Volusia County, FL -  One of the alleged ringleaders of an illegal pill-dealing ring broken up in May turned himself in to VCSO on Monday. 21-year-old Ra'Keem Thomas was identified as the head of a  group dealing around 5000 pills per month. PIO Andrew Gant said there is another suspect, 28-year-old Jason Ashe, who has been identified as the organization’s main pill supplier. A series of raids by VCSO and other agencies took place in May and caught 15 suspects involved in dealing the highly-addictive narcotic pain medication such as Oxycodone and Dilaudid. The investigation was launched in early November. Gant said tips and cooperation from street sources had put Thomas’ organization on investigators’ radar screen. Gant said the investigation is ongoing and will continue. Ra'Keem Thomas faces some 30 counts including trafficking, delivery and conspiracy to traffic Oxycodone and Hydromorphone. His bond on all charges totals more than $2 million. A link to our original story can be found here.
