Pierson Wreck Leaves 1 Dead, 1 In Critical, & Another In Serious Condition

Pierson, FL – An accident in Pierson on Tuesday night left 1 in serious condition, 1 in critical condition, and another dead.

Rosendo Miranda Escobedo of Pierson was driving north on US-17 in a 1997 Ford truck at around 7:20 on the night of February 28. A 1999 Chevy 4D with 2 occupants was heading southbound on US-17 at the same time. Both vehicles were approaching Dickey Lane when Escobedo left the northbound traffic lane and went into the southbound lanes. The front of Escobedo’s truck hit the front of the Chevy 4D.

The driver of the Chevy was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger is in critical condition at Arnold Palmer Hospital. Their names haven’t been released yet. Escobedo’s in serious condition and is being treated at Halifax Health in Daytona Beach.

All parties involved were wearing seatbelts, and according to FHP, the incident is not alcohol related. The crash is still being investigated.
