Pedestrian Hit & Killed After Leaving Median On I-4 Near DeLand

DeLand, FL – On Saturday night, a pedestrian was hit and killed on I-4 near DeLand.

According to the crash report, 42-year-old Ann Lucas of St. Augustine was driving westbound on I-4 near mile-marker 118 in a Toyota 4-door at around 8:55 PM. A 57-year-old man from Daytona Beach was standing on the median. The man suddenly left the median and traveled into the westbound lane of I-4 and was hit head-on by the Toyota.

The crash is under an investigation and the man has not yet been identified. The woman driving the car was not injured and FHP has ruled out alcohol as a factor for her, but not for the pedestrian.
