Palm Coast, FL - An 85-year-old Palm coast woman is dead after a fatal traffic accident on Friday (Dec. 14) evening.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol press release, the woman, Katherine May Sanford, was in the southbound lanes of U.S. 1, attempting make a left turn onto Seminole Woods Blvd. A 51-year-old woman was traveling northbound on U.S. 1 in the inside lane, when Sanford made a left turn in front of the woman's car.
Sanford's car was hit in the right rear passenger door in the intersection. Both vehicles rotated after the collision, coming to rest facing south in the intersection. Sanford was pronounced dead at Halifax Medical Center. The report states that Sanford was not wearing a seat belt.
