Palm Coast, FL – The suspects who stole thousands of dollars of merchandise from a Walmart in Palm Coast have been identified as the same suspects arrested in Daytona Beach for a similar shoplifting incident. At around 1:30 AM on Wednesday, September 27, Melsun Mohammed, 23 and Shayraina Ball, 22, stole nearly $20,000 worth of cell phones from a Palm Coast Walmart. Security footage shows the two entering the store and heading for the electronic department. Mohammed tried to break the glass case but was unsuccessful until he came back with a tool at 2:18 AM.

When the glass case was finally broken, Mohammed placed 26 cell phones, worth $19,144.32, into a bag. The two then left the Walmart. The crime was reported to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) at around 7 AM when employees saw the broken glass and missing cell phones. On October 1, Daytona Beach police arrived at a Walmart in Daytona in response to a shoplifting incident. Police found that the suspects matched the description of the suspects involved in the Palm Coast Walmart theft.  Mohammed and Ball were detained at Loss Prevention Office and then arrested. Both suspects are being held at the Volusia County Branch Jail where they were charged with grand theft over $5,000.00 and burglary of an occupied dwelling based off of warrants issued by the FCSO. "These criminals were making the rounds in our area stealing from local Walmarts,” said Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly. “That won’t be tolerated in Flagler County and Daytona Beach PD did a great job in taking these suspects into custody. After their stay in Volusia County, they can visit Flagler County’s Green Roof Inn.”
