Palm Coast, FL - A motorcyclist was killed on Thursday night when he struck the back of a car that had merged ahead of him on Palm Coast Pkwy.
21-year-old Tyler M. Allen of Palm Coast was riding his motorcycle, traveling eastbound on Palm Coast Pkwy at around 7:20 PM on the night of January 12, 2017.
54-year-old Julia M. Murphy, also of Palm Coast, was at a stop in her car facing south on Fairway Cir. Murphy pulled out onto Palm Coast Pkwy to head east, but when she did Allen struck the back of her car about 42 feet east of the intersection.
Allen's motorcycle overturned onto its left side and he was flung from the vehicle.
He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, but tragically that wasn't enough to save him. The investigation into this accident is ongoing.
