Palm Coast Man Wanted For Child Sex Crime Caught

Gainesville, FL - A 39-year-old Palm Coast man wanted for a felony sex crime against a child in Flagler County is caught in Florida.

Warren Putt Jr. was taken into custody this morning in Alachua County by their Sheriff's Office Fugitive Unit.

Flagler County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Brittany Kershaw says Putt's arrest warrant was based on an incident with a child who was 5 to 7 years old at the time.

"The incident was first reported in 2017 but the molestation occurred nine years prior," Kershaw added. "Putt was the child’s mother’s boyfriend at the time of the molestation."

Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly says a tipster led them to Putt less than an hour after Putt was featured on FCSO's social media pages as part of the law enforcement agency's "Fugitive Friday Bingo".

"This was great police work in getting a pervert who preyed on an innocent child off the streets and in jail where he belongs," Staly added. "Thanks to our partners at the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance."

Florida 7th Circuit Judge Terence Perkins signed off on the arrest warrant on Wednesday following an investigation which took nearly a year.

Flagler County Jail records show Putt has been booked there at least three times since September 2008 on a variety of charges, including probation violation, driving with a suspended/revoked/canceled license and carrying a concealed weapon, all misdemeanors.
