Palm Coast, FL - A Palm Coast man died when his vehicle crashed into a tree on Sunday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), Vernell Eugene Dixon, 45, was driving a 2016 Mazda CX-5, on S.R. 11, north of County Road 304 in Flagler County on Sunday, April 23. He was traveling southbound on S.R. 11 when he left the roadway, onto the grassy shoulder, and struck a tree.
Dixon, the only occupant of the vehicle, was reported missing to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office earlier Sunday morning by his wife, who said she and her husband had argued around 7 AM that same morning.
2 motorists, 1 being an off-duty paramedic, stopped to render aid after passing the crash. Dixon was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at approximately 11:24 AM.
