The matches begin on at 6:30 PM, Saturday, April 22, at the Veterans Memorial Arena, 300 A. Philip Randolph Blvd., Jacksonville. The event is open to the public. The competitors are paired up based on weight and boxing skill. Driscoll’s match is the 9th out of 15. Several other Palm Coast firefighters will also be there to see the fights, including Deputy Fire Chief Jerry Forte. “Lt. Driscoll is as much of a kind gentleman as he is a professional leader in the fire service. He has been working diligently on his first year as a lieutenant and has much success with the people he works with,” says Forte. “We have watched him train for this event and continue to be impressed at his skill level. We wish him luck and we will be there to cheer him on.” For more information or to buy tickets, go to www.GunsNHosesJax.com or call the Communications & Marketing Manager for the City of Palm Coast, Cindi Lane, at 386-986-3708 or via email at clane@palmcoastgov.com.(Photo of Driscoll courtesy of the City of Palm Coast)
