Palm Coast, Daytona Beach Tops For Cheap Retirement

Daytona Beach, FL - If you want to make your dollar stretch far in retirement and live in Florida, stay right here.

A new report from the financial technology company SmartAsset shows Palm Coast and Daytona Beach are the top two cities in the Sunshine State for making the pennies last during the golden years.

Analysts say a $1 million nest egg would last retirees over 25 years in both cities, assuming that money's used for housing, food, healthcare and other basic costs.

If you want to make it stretch another eight years, though, consider moving to McAllen, Texas. The border town came in number one on SmartAsset's list.

Palm Coast took top billing for the second year in a row in SmartAsset's survey, while Daytona Beach moved three spots up from 2017's report.
