Palm Coast, FL - A 16-year-old girl was killed and a 21-year-old woman was seriously hurt on Thursday night when a vehicle struck them as they were walking in Palm Coast.
The driver, a 37-year-old from Daytona Beach, was heading north on Lakeview Blvd in a 2016 Honda Civic at around 8:50 PM on the night of March 2. Michelle Ann Wood Taylor, 16, and 21-year-old Elizabeth Ann Sherman, both from Palm Coast, were walking on that same road, also heading north.
The driver told FHP she couldn't see the 2 pedestrians because it was dark out and they were wearing dark clothing. She ended up hitting both of them with her Honda.
Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene and Sherman was flown to UF Health Jacksonville where she's in serious condition.
FHP says this case is not alcohol related. Charges are pending an investigation.
