Daytona Beach, FL-Two men are charged in Daytona Beach after they allegedly pointed a laser light at drivers including a VCSO deputy. The deputy spotted the pair Wednesday around 12:30AM in a vehicle driving southbound on Williamson Boulevard at LPGA and followed the suspects into the parking lot of the Carolina Club Apartments. The deputy spotted them pointing red laser lights into vehicles and told dispatch they had pointed the lasers at him, too. When the suspects exited the vehicle, the deputy told dispatchers that one man had a gun. A Daytona Beach police officer entering the complex saw the deputy run to the rear of his car for cover. The suspects at that point ran from the vehicle and left a female passenger behind. A VCSO K-9 tracked the two male suspects to an apartment at 108 Carolina Lake. The man who was on the apartment lease gave his consent to a search. It was only inside the apartment and talking to the occupants that authorities learned that the "gun" was actually a lighter with a laser light that looked like a weapon. A second laser light was found inside the vehicle. The deputy positively identified the two suspects at the apartment. 25-year-old Uleseyc O'Neal and 19-year-old Terry Howard, both of Deltona, are charged with the felony of pointing a laser light at a driver or pilot. O'Neal is also charged with aggravated assault. Laser gun photos from Daytona Beach PD.
