Volusia County, FL-Deputies say an argument between two couples who went to the beach here together ended with one couple under arrest after they allegedly filed a false crime report. It all happened Sunday when Donald Benevento, Nicole Henson, William Richardson and LaTosha Henderson went to spend the day by the water in New Smyrna Beach. Benevento and Henson had an argument with Richardson and Henderson and drove off, leaving the other couple at the Hiles Boulevard parking lot without a way home. That's when Richardson, deputies say, called 911 dispatch and reported a strong arm robbery. Deputies say he gave a suspect description matching Donald Benevento and said the man had pushed his girlfriend to the ground and snatched her purse. Richardson also gave 911 a description of the red GMC Jimmy SUV Benevento was driving. Deputies stopped the suspect vehicle at Lytle Avenue and Live Oak Street in New Smyrna Beach. Richardson and Henderson were brought to the location to make the ID. Upon being questioned, deputies realised the entire incident had been made up. 30-year-old Richardson and 31-year-old Henderson have been charged with filing a false police report. Richardson was also charged with drug possession.
