Daytona Beach, FL-¬†Temperatures over the 90-degree mark could end by late next week. It’s been 52 days and counting in Daytona Beach. NWS Melbourne meteorologist Randy Lascody adds that dry conditions haven’t helped.

Lascody said our normal highs this time of year are above 90 but because of the drier than normal conditions, there’s been no break in the heat. He said the dry conditions are caused by the ocean breezes.

There may be some slight rain relief in sight over the weekend. Lascody said the winds should change to the south-southwest and push some of the rain back toward the coastal areas. Once the wind changes, Lascody thinks the over 90-degree streak will be broken.
