Ormond Woman Pours Bleach Into Soda Bottle After Argument With Grandmother

Ormond Beach, FL - A woman was arrested in Ormond Beach on Sunday night after police say she poured bleach into a bottle of soda after an argument with her grandmother, knowingly putting her grandmother at risk by contaminating the bottle. 21-year-old Shayoni Williams had been arguing with her grandmother over a dispute regarding Williams's children, according to arrest reports. At one point during the argument at their home in Ormond Beach, Williams had raised her right hand, as if she were going to hit her grandmother. Williams claims she was only trying to scare her grandmother and not actually trying to hit her. The grandmother went into her room for several minutes after the argument, according to reports, and then she went to the kitchen to grab a drink. That's when the grandmother noticed a strange smell coming from one of the soda bottles in the refrigerator. She and her grandson agreed that the bottle smelled like bleach. When the two confronted Williams about the bottle, Williams admitted to pouring bleach in the bottle and putting it in the refrigerator. After police arrived on the scene, they poured out the liquid in the bottle and noticed the smell of bleach as well. Williams was taken into custody for reckless tampering with a product and was held on $15,000 bond. Williams's children were turned over to their biological father, arrest reports say.
