Ormond Pedestrian Hit & Killed By Vehicle After Rolling Into Street

Ormond Beach, FL – A pedestrian has died after being struck by a car on Bryant St. in Ormond Beach.

According to the crash report, 54-year-old Stanley Cannon was sitting on the west side of the roadway near the 500 block of Bryant Street at around 5 PM on Friday. A witness told police that they observed Cannon rolling further into the roadway in the path of a vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle approaching Cannon stated that they saw him lying in the road and tried to swerve to avoid hitting him. The rear passenger side tire of their vehicle ultimately struck Cannon.

Cannon, who was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol, was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center. The crash report confirms Cannon was pronounced dead at around 7:15 PM. Police believe Cannon was at-fault for the crash.
