Ormond PD: Same Man May Have Robbed 3 Stores

Ormond Beach, FL - Detectives think the man who ran out of a beachside pharmacy with a cash register drawer over the weekend might be the same one who robbed at least two other businesses in Ormond Beach over the past week.

The Ormond Beach Police Department released a security photo this morning of a man wanted for robbing a convenience store just north of the Tomoka River last night. It's posted above this article.

OBPD Officer Keith Walker says the suspect description in that robbery - which happened around 7:45 p.m. at the Circle K on 1058 North U.S. Highway 1, next to Iron Horse Saloon - is a match for the one the day before at the CVS store on East Granada Boulevard near Birthplace of Speed Park.

"The suspect is described as a white male, thin, wearing a black hat, black long sleeve shirt and black shorts," Walker added. "This [also] matches the description of the suspect who robbed [a] Sunoco [gas station] on July 15th."

Walker tells us that wasn't the only connection between the CVS and Circle K incidents. The way the robberies happened, he says, is also very similar.

"The [Circle K] store clerk advised that an unknown suspect made a purchase at the counter," Walker stated. "When the clerk opened the register, the suspect grabbed the cash drawer and fled the store."

In both cases, the suspect is believed to have run off on foot in a southwesterly direction from the scene.

OBPD has yet to release any details about the Sunoco incident, but no injuries were reported in the Circle K or CVS incidents.
