Ormond Looking For "Hometown Heroes" Applicants

Ormond Beach, FL - The city of Ormond Beach rolls out a new program honoring military service members who are residents.

"Hometown Heroes" is designed to showcase military veterans and active service members.

There are 96 spots available for the first year of the program and those spots will be filled first come, first served.

Those who are selected will have banners displayed across the Granada Bridge beginning in November 2019. Each banner will feature the service member's photo, name, branch of service and dates served.

Additionally, each service member honored will receive a keepsake replica banner which will be presented at a ceremony at the Performing Arts Center.

Only people who reside in Ormond Beach or have family ties there can be nominated.
