Earlier Reporting: The search is on early today for an armed white man who robbed the Ormond Beach Walmart at gunpoint and then carjacked a woman in the parking lot. The vehicle is a 2013 gray Ford Fiesta with the FL license plate 4530JJ. The vehicle has a Daytona State sticker and a "Princess" sticker. Police say the suspect pointed a gun at a customer service clerk and took an unknown amount of cash. He then left the store and pointed the gun at an 18-year-old woman and took her vehicle. Police say the gun used by the suspect may have actually been a BB gun, but it's not known for sure at this time. An empty BB gun box was found in the Electronics Department of the Walmart. That BB gun was the same style of weapon used by the suspect. "We think he might have used it," said Keith Walker, Training and Public Information Officer with OBPD. "But we don't know if he has a real gun. Based on the information we have... the dude has had a gun before in the past and been involved in a shootout with law enforcement. So we want to err on the side of caution here just in case he does have a real gun. We don't want anyone getting shot approaching him thinking it's just a BB gun." 2016 Southern Stone Communications Copyright
