Tint Meter

Ormond Beach, FL- A free vehicle window tint check is available this week, courtesy of the Ormond Beach Police Department. Officer Keith Walker said while it is important for an officer to be able to see in, window tint that's too dark hinders a driver's vision and could cause an accident. Car window tinting laws in Florida were enacted in 1991. Walker said police use a "tint meter" that's used to determine how much light goes through the tint. If it's too dark, you could be fined. Walker said the fine for a non-moving violation is $118. The "Vehicle Window Tint Check" event is on Wednesday, August 24, from 3 P.M. until 8 P.M. at the Ormond Beach Police Department.
