Ormond Beach, FL-Police in Ormond Beach are investigating two vehicle fires that have been determined to have been deliberately set. One vehicle was destroyed and another was damaged in the fire at 1285 Biltmore Drive that was reported around 5:40 AM Sunday. Police Sunday charged 27-year-old Vincent Palmer III with felony arson and say he and the victim were once boyfriend/girlfriend and have two kids together. They split in April of this year. Police say Palmer, who works at the Trader Joe's warehouse, left work around 4:35 Sunday morning, stopped and got gas in a soda bottle, drove his scooter to the victim's neighborhood and then walked to her home. Once at the home, he got a brick and broke the vehicle's window and then he poured gas inside  her car and lit it. Police say prior to lighting the car on fire, Palmer clipped a note to the mailbox at the home that said in part, "KKK" and said "I HAVE WATHED YOU FOR A LONG TIME YOU AND YOUR NIGGER KIDS DONT Belong" on one side and "Trump" on the other. The spelling here is how the note appeared according to police. Palmer is black and the victim is white. The victim told police she had lived at that home since 1976 and had no problems before this incident. Police also say he staged his own kidnapping at his home in Daytona Beach where investigators found another note and blood drops in the driveway. Palmer was found by a police officer at a Burger King on US 1 in Ormond Beach Sunday. He told police he was having trouble with the victim over their children. Palmer was being held on no bond at the Volusia County Branch Jail.
